Free Session Sheets for the GM
This one is free, and it's built for one moment in particular. A scene wraps up, the next one isn't quite ready, and somebody reaches for their phone. Most of the time the prep was fine, and the trouble is only that gap.
The Night's Ledger is two sheets you fill in about ten minutes before the game, plus one d66 table you keep for when things stall. It covers a single session and leaves the campaign to the other Ledgers. It isn't tied to a system, and it assumes you've already prepped however much you like to prep.
Tonight's Page is laid out by when things happen. The Door is the first ten minutes, and the Road is whatever keeps pulling the night forward, with three ways it could go. The Hour is the scene you'd hate to push to next week, and the Last Ten Minutes is how you want to land it. The Cast for Tonight has six lines for whoever might talk, plus the one object that matters.
If They Stall holds 36 non-combat scenes in six groups, each one a reason for the table to keep talking. Here's one as printed:
45. The thing they said. A line one party member said in an earlier session, quoted back to them, accurately, by someone who wasn't in the room when they said it.
On the back are three lines to fill in afterward, for what happened, what it cost and what comes back. Once this page has carried a few nights, The Session Zero Kit is the next thing to pick up, with five sheets that set up a whole campaign before its first session.
