Sorcerer Subclass for 5e
A fireball is 28, every time, for a sorcerer who speaks the First Tongue. That's the Old Certainty. Once on each of your turns you can pass on a damage roll and take its expected result.
The certainty widens at 6th level to any number a spell asks you to roll. Spells cast with Sorcery Points also get Advantage against being countered, and checks to dispel them have Disadvantage. At 14 the averages round up and the easy Concentration saves stop needing a roll. At 18, one word from before words makes your spells uncounterable for a minute and puts certainty on every roll that qualifies, and one time the sorcerer can take every die at its maximum.
Beasts, infants, and anything without a language understand you the whole way through. The origin spells run from Command to Geas.
