Rogue Subclass for 5e
Snares are the Trapmaster's trade, trips and snags and tangles, each one hidden against a fixed DC. One can go down as a Bonus Action in the middle of a fight, or over a minute when things are quiet.
Anything Caught in one is a Sneak Attack target, with no ally nearby and no Advantage needed. The fine print is that Caught only comes from ground the rogue prepared personally.
Ten minutes on the Field Read shows where to cut something off. Disarming a real trap earns a snare back, and at 17th level every snare the rogue has placed springs at once. The PDF also includes The Chase, which gives any table a single page for handling pursuits.
